Most projects we've been involved in have changed a lot during the development process, but the kind of fundamental transformation seen in Polytropos is rare. What started as a fairly standard online documentation request for an educational/research project by the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), quickly took on a life of its own. ZHdK commissioned the work from us, and we responded with a proposal and a counter-commission: We'll create your archive, if you give us a video documentary to serve as interface. The video was created by Lobsang Tashi Sotrug in collaboration with Hayat Erdogan, and turned into a brilliant work of video art. Polytropos.ch in turn, turned into a case study in multi-dimensional timeline narrative.
Polytropos.ch premiered March 31, 2016 at Cabaret Voltaire, Zürich.
