Lines, interacting with an idea

In addition to the source text, the medieval "glossary" contains several layers of commentary. The number of commentary levels was however limited by the physical boundary of the page.
Re-thinking this form of highly collaborative writing with today's information technologies, we can move past the edges of the page...
...as digital representations allows endless commenting.
In Lines, multiple users can create weaves of texts, commenting on comments. A fragmented yet referential thinking can thus be enacted in collaborative writing.
Each comment or idea can be traced back to its source...
...enriched with images...
...and even printed as small research booklets.
